This policy explains what MoveLantern collects, why, and what choices you have. MoveLantern is a free service that helps people find licensed, vetted movers. We are not a moving company and we do not move belongings.

What we collect

When you use our matching form, we collect the details you give us: your name, where you are moving from and to, the kind and size of your move, your approximate dates, your preferred language, and a phone number or email so we (and matched movers) can reach you. We do not ask for, and you should not send us, immigration documents, government ID numbers, payment card numbers, or other sensitive personal records.

How we use it

We use your information to connect you with licensed, vetted local and long-distance movers and to follow up about your request. By submitting the form and checking the consent box, you agree that MoveLantern and matched movers may contact you about your move by phone, text, or email, including by automated means, even if your number is on a Do-Not-Call list. Consent is not a condition of using any service, and you can opt out at any time by telling us or the mover to stop.

Who we share it with

We share your request with a limited number of movers so they can respond with estimates. We do not sell your information for unrelated advertising. Service providers who help us operate the site (such as hosting and email delivery) may process data on our behalf under confidentiality terms.

Your choices

• You can ask us what information we hold about you and ask us to delete it.
• You can opt out of further contact at any time.
• You can choose not to submit the form and simply read the guides.

Data retention & security

We keep request information only as long as needed to provide the matching service and meet legal obligations, then delete it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it, though no method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure.
